Klout and the #ManofSteelPremiere

I Got Klout

Thanks to Klout, my wife and I were able to attend the world premiere of the new Superman movie: Man of Steel last Monday. I know, it was awesome! The movie comes to all theaters today (Friday).

Basically, we were invited to the theater at Dolphin Mall here in Miami, Fl. to watch some chick and some dude interview all the actors as they arrived in New York for the first screening of Man of Steel. Once all the stars got into the theater we watched the actual movie "with" them, in 3D to boot!

Getting Free Stuff

Klout has given me free stuff before based on my influence in Social Media, they call this free stuff "Perks." Some of my perks include the following:

I know, those are some real, name brands. These perks are legitimate and very cool. My wife and I have had some serious fun as a direct result of our involvement with Klout.

What is Klout?

Klout claims to be a standard for influence. They measure your interaction and rate your social accounts on a scale of 1-100. Typically, everyone has a Klout score around 20-40. Then, as interactions and engagement increases, so does the Klout score. However, the higher your score, the harder it becomes to maintain and increase the score. Scores in the 90s indicates an uber popular figure/expert in their field. Two examples of 90+ Klout scores are Oprah Winfrey and President Barack Obama.

You can also specialize in topics, which can help with the whole perks situation. My special topics include only one that relates directly to this blog, the other topics relate to my Holy Things blog and my twitter account mainly.
  • Theology
  • Religion & Spirituality
  • Christianity
  • Disney
  • Health
  • Marriage
  • Road Trip
  • Blogging
  • Food
  • Movies

Conclusion

Don't get me wrong, I don't view Klout as the end-all measure for influence. I don't point to the fact that Klout thinks I'm influential on Movies as a justification for my critique of Man of Steel (go see it, but don't take it too seriously). But it's fun to see what social media says about your hobbies.

So check out my Klout profile. Join Klout. Get some perks. Have some fun. Enjoy life!

Have you used Klout? What do you think of it?
